"Repouso do meio-dia", óleo de Nahum Gutman
WIND
The wind brings peace to
what was. To what never was,
wind does not bring peace.
To one’s surprise, this too
is a place: the poet brings
it forth
with the breath of is mouth,
the writing of is eyes -and
old ruse.
When I say you, already you
smile. When I glance at my watch
you grow unhappy. Pretty
girl, how little
you require, and what little
profit there is in love.
This place is worse than
hell:
Hell is, is real.
